Empower Staff

Master’s Level Marriage and Family Therapists utilize a therapeutic approach to empower youth to take an active role in increasing their functioning thereby creating more sustainability in their ability to cope through life’s up’s and downs. In addition, therapists embrace a culturally sensitive approach to addressing the needs of youth.


Cedric Weatherspoon, MAMFT

Cedric earned his Bachelors Degree in Social Science with a minor in Psychology from Mayville State University in 1992. He earned his Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University, Twin Cities in 2007. He has 12 years experience working with high risk youth, families, and individuals with development delays.

Dominique Hawkins, MAMFT

Dominique earned her Bachelors Degree in Psychology with a minor in African American Studies from the University of Minnesota in 2002. She earned her Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University, Twin Cities in 2007. She has an extensive background in working with youth in out of home placement and families in crisis.

Jennifer Oliver-King, LSW, LMFT

Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from Augustana College in 1989, and has been a Licensed Social Worker in Minnesota since September 1989. Jennifer worked with adolescents placed in shelter, worked with AFDC recipients in the STRIDE program to assist them in transitioning to work through training, school and job search, and spent 11 years as a Family Violence Intervention Specialist, co-creating and facilitating 18 week educational groups developed to intervene and stop domestic violence through re-education of individuals, primarily male, court-ordered due to violent behavior. She trained advocates and supervised interns, volunteers and co-workers. Facilitated two battered women's suport groups. Worked with a team of facilitators for the Women's Issue Group at the Hennepin Adult Women's Correctional Facility. Assisted women in writing and filing Orders for Protection in Hennepin and Ramsey County. Jennifer returned to school at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and obtained a Master's Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota in October 2000. In 2000, Jennifer worked as a Children's Mental Health Case Manger at Model Cities of St. Paul, Inc. providing assistance to 25 severly emotionally disturbed children and their families residing in Ramsey County through obtaining and coordination of services, providing monthly in-home visits. From 2001-2003 she was a clinical therapist providing Multisystemic Therapy at Face to Face Health & Counseling Service, Inc. in St. Paul. In 2003, Jennifer earned her certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. She has worked providing in-home based services for families since 2000, and became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Minnesota in 2005. Since 2006, she has been responsible for the supervision of 6 agency staff and the services provided to clients including diagnostic assessments, on-site supervision, case consultation. Jennifer is also providing assistance to the management of internal operations of a therapy agency while maintaining an outpatient clinical caseload, and continuing to provide in-home based services.
